01/11/07 Peer Mediation A film crew from Lambent Productions visited Ridgeway School to make a DVD on Peer Mediation.
01/10/07 Ridgeway School Council Mud Build: We have 120 bags of rescued mud wall, the help of Conservation Architect and Expert in Mud construction Linda Watson from Plymouth School of Architecture and 60 Student Architects who are coming to build the designs of Ridgeway Students who have been practicing the techniques for the last couple of weeks.
28/09/07: Gary Streeter Meets Ridgeway School Council: On Friday 28th September 2007 Plymouth’s Conservative M.P visited Ridgeway School. Continuing meetings like this will be a great way of improving our city and the world around us. It is a fantastic opportunity for young people to put their ideas and opinions across.

10/09/07 Romanian Teachers Visit Ridgeway: Three secondary teachers from Romania spent four working days at Ridgeway earlier this term. All three staff work at the Electrotimis Technological High School in Timisoara, Romania’s second largest city, where they teach English, Human Sciences and P.E. [Read more]
Active Kids Get Cooking with Sainsbury’s and Ridgeway School: As part of their initiative, Sainsbury’s donated items of kitchen equipment to the Food Technology department at Ridgeway School. Mark Prout, the store manager at Sainsbury’s Marsh Mills, was delighted to visit the school recently. [Read more]
12/07/07 Ridgeway School annual Celebration of Success Over 700 students, their relations, staff and invited guests filled the Guildhall. As proud parents and grandparents looked on, nearly 170 students were rewarded for their efforts during the past year. [See the photos] Every subject recognised the success of their students. 08/07/07: MFL Faculty: Trip to Spain 'La mejor semana de mi vida' (The best week of my life, by MFL Student Dann Carr).
I really enjoyed my trip to Spain [See the photos] and I would definitely like to go again. It started off brilliantly with a midnight tour of Paris, ending up at the Eiffel Tower just as it began to twinkle. [Read more]

03/07/07: Coppers For Tanzania July 3rd was BIG MAP DAY at Ridgeway School. The School council has been working with the Global Development Links (now called Childreach International) in support of the TRY-IT fund (Tanzanian Rural Youth-Inclusion and Training). [Read more]

Ridgeway School places a very high importance on Book Week which this year ran from Monday 21st May to Friday 25th May. All of our KS3 students are given the opportunity to study books by the authors who are invited into the school. [Read the full article]

The Plympton Corus Kids of Steel weekend, which took place at Ridgeway School and Plympton Pool on 28th and 29th April, proved a major success. Over 220 children, aged between 8 and 16 years old, participated in the two days of triathlon activity. [Read the full article]

International School Exchange Visitors: The Principal and the Director of Vidya Niketan School in Bangalore, India recently paid a visit to Ridgeway to find out more about our Science and Drama work and to explore the possibility of setting up a school exchange.

National Science & Engineering Week 2007
On the 12th of March, the whole of Year 8 and many in Year 10 at Ridgeway School were treated to a presentation sponsored by the Royal Institute as part on National Science Week 2007. [Read the article in full]
Making Languages Our Business:

29th January: A Letter From The Queen. Ridgeway recently recieved a letter of thanks after planting a tree on the school grounds, to celebrate the occasion of Her Majesty's Eightieth birthday. [Click here to view the letter].

Mrs Davidson's Year 8 class were engaged on a unit of work entitled Whale Rider.
