Ridgeway Students who have been practicing mudbuilding techniques 01/10/07 Ridgeway School Council Mud Build: We have 120 bags of rescued mud wall, the help of Conservation Architect and Expert in Mud construction Linda Watson from Plymouth School of Architecture and 60 Student Architects who are coming to build the designs of Ridgeway Students who have been practicing the techniques for the last couple of weeks.

The Plympton Corus Kids of Steel weekend, which took place at Ridgeway School and Plympton Pool on 28th and 29th April, proved a major success. Over 220 children, aged between 8 and 16 years old, participated in the two days of triathlon activity. [Read the full article]

International School Exchange On the 25th April, Ridgeway had two visitors from the Vidya Niketan School in Bangalore, India - the Principal and the Director of the school. Their visit was two-fold: To find out more about our Science and Drama work and to explore the possibility of setting up a school exchange. On the 19th and 20th April 2007, West country theatre company provided two hour long workshops which students took part in focussing on the set scenes on which they are to be examined. In January Mrs Davidson's Year 8 class were working on a unit of work entitled Whale Rider. Mrs Davidson wrote this core scheme of work following her visit to New Zealand in November 2005. It is designed to develop awareness of other cultures, and the resulting posters reflect the students' appreciation of ancient Maori traditions. January: Mrs Davidson's Year 8 class were engaged on a unit of work entitled Whale Rider.







On Wednesday 17th January, Solly Irving, Holocaust survivor, came into school to speak to Year 10 students. 17th January: Holocaust survivor, Solly Irving, tells his moving story.
